SCREECH! The Renovation Update We Didn't See Coming
You know those updates that you avoid sharing as long as possible, because it feels like you’re inside of a nightmare and you’re hoping you’ll wake up? Well, that’s been us these last few weeks. Below, you’ll find the statement we released on our Facebook page. Thank you for the outpouring of love and support we’ve already received. We are so thankful for our amazing community!
“Hey! How’s the house coming?”
“When are you moving in?”
Well, friends. We have avoided sharing our current situation because, well, it sucks.
Many of you know, some time ago, we set out to renovate historic homes across the street from one another.
We shared the same street, contractors, (amazing) designer, and excitement over our projects.
Well, about 6 weeks ago, things took a hard turn for the worst.
We have been advised to not go into much detail now, but as soon as we can tell our whole story- we will.
For now, we wanted to let you know that we are heartbroken. Devastated. Blindsided. We are out a LOT of money and time. The joy has been taken out of what should have been an exciting time.
That’s the bad news.
The good news is— the story doesn’t end here.
Our mamas didn’t raise quitters.
We’re rolling up our sleeves and getting down to business. We’re doing some work on our own. We’re surrounding ourselves with trustworthy and knowledgeable people. We’re scraping and thrifting and making ends meet.
We have a long road ahead of us, but will be in our houses in 2021- and nobody can take that away from us.
