Choosing light fixtures— or any kind of fixtures— can be daunting. I’m the type of person who tends to love a lot of different styles, so it can be hard for me to pick things that feel cohesive. As my design tastes have matured (insert cheesy sommelier smile here), this is something that I’ve gotten better about.

When we first began our Pink Lady Renovation, I knew that I wanted to mix historic and modern elements throughout the home. I didn’t want it to look like a Victorian museum, but I also didn’t want it to look like a new build.

The first choice I had to make was regarding fixture finish. I didn’t agonize over this one— antique brass was an immediate choice for me. So many of our original doors had antique brass hardware, and I’m drawn to the warmth of brass in general. I knew right away that this would be a finish that I carried throughout the main living areas of our home.

The harder part, for me, was finding an actual place to buy everything. I hated the idea of buying a bunch of different things from a million different places, and that’s when I found Lights Online.

I mean it when I say that their selection is incredible, and I was able to find everything I needed to tie up our lighting on their website. They carry a ton of different brands and styles, and they were very helpful when I had questions about particular pieces.

So, without further delay— here’s what I went with!

I love a good sconce! As I mentioned earlier, I went with a warm/antique brass for the main living areas (plus the master bedroom!) and saved the nickel sconces for the kids’ bathroom.

1.) Will go in our master bedroom on either side of the bed. I love the shade and the chain for easy night reading.

2.) Will go on either side of an antique mirror in the downstairs bathroom.

3.) This sconce will carry throughout the house — along the stairs, in our master bathroom, and in several living areas. It’s classic and beautiful!

4.) These will go above the mirrors in the kids’ bathroom. I love how these had a bit more of an “industrial” feel and I think they’ll go beautifully with the mirrors that we’ve chosen, as well as the chrome plumbing fixtures in this space.

Friends, just say NO to boob lights! Flush mounts are the way to go. They can make a statement in a hallway and look way better than the alternative, don’t you think!?

These lights will go in our vestibules, hallways, and one in the laundry room.

I love pairing a beautiful flushmount light with recessed lighting in hallway areas.

I am SO excited about these! They’re classic and will hang on either side of each exterior door. They add dimension and go seamlessly with our Victorian exterior. I especially think that the contrast of the bronze against the pale pink will really pop!

So, there you have it! Our choices from Lights Online. I can’t wait to share photos of the finished product installed— I know that they’ll be beautiful! If you’re in the market for new lighting of any kind, I highly recommend their site.
